  • After meeting with the new individual client(s) for a first time, we ask the new client(s) to provide us with the following items: (1) a copy of their prior year's tax returns; (2) any prior correspondence from any tax authority regarding any prior tax matters and (3) a signed engagement letter which we provide that discusses our firm's services and responsibilities.

Our Process for new business clients

  • After meeting with the new business client for a first time, where we discuss the client's business and business history,we normally will ask the new client to provide us with the following items: (1) a copy of their prior year's tax returns; (2) all monthly bank statements for the current tax year; (3) a copy of their current manual check register; (4) if all financial data is kept electronically, we then ask for a back up copy of their accounting software. Most of our clients who use accounting software use QuickBooks and we will need a back up copy of that file as well; (5) any subsidiary ledgers, journals, etc. that the client uses or has used in the preparation of their financial data in the past  and (6) a signed engagement letter which we provide that discusses our firm's services and responsibilities.

Our Process for returning individual clients

  • At the request of the client, we will send the client a tax organizer (in either paper or electronic form) and ask that the client send it to use with all of the annual tax source documents such as Forms 1099, Forms K-1, etc.; (2) if the client request, we will meet with the client either at their place of business or home. After work hours meetings or Saturday meetings are available as well for no extra cost; (3) we prepare the requisite tax returns and send them to the client for their review. If their are no client questions, we askk the client sign the annual release form which allows us to electronically file the return on behalf of the client. And finally(6), we ask that a signed engagement letter (which we provide that discusses our firm's services and responsibilities) be signed and returned to us as well.
